Wellington Talent Our New Designworkers

Wellington Talent

In recent months we've experienced growth in all areas of our business, and accordingly we've got some exciting new talent on board to bolster the Designworks team across Graphic Design, Strategy and Spacial Design in both our Auckland and Wellington offices.

Belinda Ellis and Tyrone Ohia come on as designers in Wellington with interactive designer Owen Johnston and interior designer Stacey Mitchell joining our newly formed interactive and spacial teams respectively. In strategy Kirsten Ford, Sarah O'Leary and Mark Buntzen come on board adding their strategic skills to the mix in Auckland.

Belinda comes on in the role of design leader and bring with her twenty-five years of professional experience behind her - both here and in the UK.  Her branding work includes such well-known international identities as Jo Malone, London; Railtrack, Thameslink, The Dorchester Hotel and Connolly Leather.  As well as locally large public sector brands such as the Department of Building and Housing and Inland Revenue as well as smaller private sector identities like Novak and Middleton Architects, Royal Wellington Golf Club and The Royal Society of New Zealand.  She has won a BeST Design Award for Novak and Middleton's 'Life Defining Space' identity and the Gold and Best Overall Annual Report for GNS Science at the International Arc Awards in New York. Last year her design for the Prime Minister's Science Prizes award and identity received a Gold in the Graphic Design Arts category at BeST.

Tyrone, originally from Tauranga, and of Ngati Pukenga and Ngai te Rangi descent, was raised in Whanganui on a pretty strict diet of Lego and comics. Which seemed to lead in well to his time at the Whanganui School of Design, from which he graduated with distinction from in 2008. His student larks were well received – two projects were Best Awards finalists in 2008, and his Degree efforts earnt him a certificate of Typographic Excellence from the New York Type Directors Club.  Since then he has been working in Wellington, sponging knowledge from the masters and expanding his palette of skills. In 2010, a set of trophies he worked on for the Prime Minister's Science Awards won a Best Awards Gold.  Working on a wide range of clients, including Format Print, GNS Science, The Quit Group, CentrePort and FX Networks.

Keen to see what you two come up with! Thrilled to have you both on board.
