Dragon's Den

Last week saw Designworks involvement in an University of Auckland Business School initiative held at the main campus.

Senior marketing lecturer David Shieff and the team have established a Dragons Den type format to critique marketing students through dedicated assignments and invited Designworks' Michael Crampin to join fellow panelists Tom Agee, Andrew Patterson and Steve Ballantyne to review strategic marketing plans designed by the students to tackle specific challenges facing the Telco in today's market.

David Shieff “for the students, the value of getting hard-nosed feedback from dragons like Michael is just great. The students get a taste of what to expect in the real world, and often, they surprise the dragons with the commercial pragmatism and creativity of their proposals.”

Responses were varied and in many cases highly relevant solutions.  "There was amazing potential in much of what I saw - a real focus on producing genuinely useful answers that could be applied to create real market difference. It was a great experience." said Michael Crampin
