Designworks took out the Creative category at this year’s Wellington Gold awards. The win is particularly flattering considering the calibre of our fellow finalists and we’re in brilliant company with past recipients of this award including The Flight of the Concords and Weta Workshop.
The 2011 finalists in the Creative category were Deborah Sweeney, Downstage Theatre, KHF Media and The New Zealand Film Archive. 40 Judges from the business and arts community cast their votes to narrow the field down to the five eventual finalists.
Gold Awards Director, John Dow, said that the judges' comments described Designworks as an astute business that had successfully brought strategic thinking and quality creativity together in a way that significantly supported a wide range of clients, including some of New Zealand’s largest and most influential organisations.
The judges were also impressed with the contribution Designworks makes to support Wellington’s claims to be the Creative Capital –particularly through providing services to important cultural and artistic projects and entities.
The awards were personally presented by Mayor Celia Wade-Brown at a separate reception at her office.
