The look and feel of words is a large driver in Tim’s push to take his design career up a notch as the newest teamster at Designworks Wellington studio.
A recent graphic design graduate, his Bachelor of Design from Massey University was sandwiched between part time work designing online training and a passion for typography. The latter put him in a small elite group of inductees into the International Society of Typography Design, as one of a handful across Australia and New Zealand to make the grade in 2009. “In design, I feel typography is a very important thing to know and I wanted to test myself against that international standard.”
Often working against his own personal standard, when he couldn’t find a 2010 calendar he liked enough, he turned out one featuring his own designs on his personal pin ups of the typography world. And yes, he’s taking orders.
