Since 2006 designworks has worked with Auckland Airport on a major brand development project, with the aim of moving them from an infrastructure focus towards a more emotive and meaningful customer experience as˜New Zealand's airport.

The strategy is to create an outstanding, welcoming and uniquely kiwi journey for the eleven million passengers who pass through the airport each year by focusing on representing the national pride we have in the best of our country.

Brand elements such as the proud black and silver colour palette, koru-inspired logo, diversity of the people and natural imagery celebrate the uniqueness of New Zealand's identity. A partnership with Te Papa provides a rich source of historical imagery and storytelling, while the simplified signage system helps passengers navigate the busy airport environment.
